Bio: Since
1970 Anne Kilham has been living and working in Rockport,
Maine. She started her business producing block-print
designs and now works in watercolors that reflect her
love of Maine’s unique environment. These images
are reproduced on notecards, postcards and calendars.
Keeping pace with ever-evolving technology, Anne is
currently offering digital giclée prints through
her company and at local galleries including her own.
Anne was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1937, and at
the age of 8 she and her family moved to an 86 acre
farm in Massachusetts. She enjoyed summers attending
the state’s Audubon Camps as camper and counselor.
Drawing subjects from nature was her passion. Though
mostly self-taught, the devotion of her early art teachers
has been a life-long influence in her work. Her family
was also inspirational as many members were or are working
artists and designers.
Recently Anne renovated an 1840s cape affording her
the long-awaited opportunity to experiment with color
and interior design. These days she can be found in
her studio exploring new disciplines as well as continuing
to produce the enduring images which have become synonymous
with Anne Kilham Designs.
