Artist's Statement:
The stand is stainless steel constructed
from a rowing shell's discarded outriggers courtesty of
Epiphanes N.A., Inc. The fish were carved from a Grumman
canoe side board courtesy of Atlantic Challenge. The paint
is "Golden" acrylic colors, top coated with solvent
based UV resistant acrylic varnish. The brass reinforcement
loops for eyes and finial are courtesy of TIDALWORKS.
"Fish without tails are like boats without sails, they
wiggle in the water" was designed and fabricated for
the Atlantic Challenge 44° Latitude Art Auction in Rockland,
Maine by William Barriss Martin, Sculptor.
