A
History of Traditional Seamanship
Our
seamanship training began thirty-five years ago when apprentices
began sailing the boats they built. A world-wide seamanship
contest developed in 1986 when Atlantic Challenge teams from
around the globe competed in 10-day rowing, sailing, and navigation
events fostering international competition and life-long connections.
Adult and Youth Sailing in Maine
Now
located on Rockland Harbor, seamanship continues today with
our Community Sailing Program. Begun in 1997, the program
is designed to provide all Rockland area youth and adults
with an opportunity to develop self-confidence and satisfaction
while learning the timeless skills of the sailor and the sea.
Sign up today and enjoy many youth sailing opportunities,
after school and all day programs, and adult sailing lessons
on the Maine coast.
